NATURAL BUG REPELLENT

So living in a very heavy wooded area made me think: I need a bug spray, and I need it fast. I had remembered that I repinned a post on P and it was about bugspray, so here is the relink: Essential Oil Bug Spray. She has some good ideas and I used a lot of the same types of ingredients, yet I added my own twist.

First, I found old spray bottles around the house and emptied them out, thoroughly cleaning any previous odor out by squirting hot/soapy water through the sprayer.

Next, I gathered some ingredients:
Infused*/plain water that has been boiled or distilled (*the infused part is for other ingredients...I'll explain)
Natural witch hazel
Favorite essential oils (I used lavender, mint, eucalyptus, tea tree, and oregano.
Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO)
towel

8oz spray bottles (or twist cap, just harder to spread on yourself)

After trying this a few times, I have perfected the process.

1. Pour a total of 50-70 drops of all your favorite oils into the bottle.
2. Pour 1 TBSP of EVOO into bottle.
3. Fill bottle 1/2 way with water.
4. Fill to top with witch hazel.

SHAKE WELL, use often, and be HAPPY because you aren't beign bitten by bugs.

I have seriously watched mosquitos fly up around me, sniff a bit, then fly away. IT WORKS!. I live in a heavy wooded area and see 100's of bugs a day. Seriously, no bites for me or my family.

This spray is 100% safe and can be sprayed anywhere, although it may burn if sprayed in the eyes. Rinse with cold water, if this happens. You can even taste it if you like and no yucky chemical taste, either!!!!

Can't say enough about this recipe. Try it or send me an email if you want a custom made sample from me :-) <3 :-)
